What we do
Policy2Practice is a consultancy in the field of public affairs. We are engaged in solving social issues in which various, often conflicting, interests come into play. We help companies, individuals and institutions to influence political decisions and advise policy makers and administrators who are looking for public support.
Policy2Practice puts lobbying into practice. From our practical experience we advise and support you in your lobbying efforts with the government, and if desired we can also perform the lobbying ourselves. This distinguishes us from most public affairs agencies. Policy2Practice advises on policy issues and negotiation processes in a complex political force field, but we can also offer support on relatively simple issues, such as arranging a permit or applying for a subsidy. We are available for all issues involving social interests and where there is a need for an action perspective to reach a solution.
Public Affairs is a broad term and includes many forms of strategic communication within a public context. Policy2Practice has specialized in political lobbying: influencing political decision-making. This often involves companies and institutions that are affected or have an interest in government decisions and want to influence them in a professional way.
In a modern democracy, governments are increasingly expected to make policy in consultation with stakeholders. The government will therefore also have to lobby for public support for its policy. Within public affairs, this is also known as stakeholder management. On the basis of a good understanding of the interests, wishes and motives of interested parties, policy proposals can be sought that are socially and politically acceptable. In these times with many conflicting interests and social issues, it is becoming increasingly important for governments to understand the art of lobbying.

NATIONAL GOVERNMENT
The central government is the most important policy maker in the Netherlands. We support companies, institutions and governments in representing their interests at the various ministries (official lobby) and the Lower House (political lobby). We can also provide support for national policy dossiers with a European dimension, if required together with our partners in Brussels.
REGIONAL GOVERNMENT
Local governments operate in a context in which they are often no longer able to deal with the major challenges they face on their own. This requires more and more cooperation and coordination with other governments and social stakeholders. We support municipalities, water boards and provinces in the area of stakeholder management and lobbying towards other governments.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMSTERDAM)
In recent years, municipalities and provinces have been given more and more tasks, often involving major interests. We have therefore increasingly specialized in lobbying municipalities and provinces in recent years. We now have extensive experience in this area and are active at the local level for various clients, particularly in the Amsterdam region. Our specific focus on local lobbying at municipalities and provinces sets us apart from other, often more nationally oriented lobbying firms.
