vision and method
Successful companies know how to translate their interests into the perceptions of citizens and policy makers. Successful governments translate their social ambitions into the perceptions of practitioners.
From clashing interests, seek binding interests. From influencing policy, to concrete results. That is what Policy2Practice stands for. Founder Marco Kreuger embodies that vision and approach. As a former political administrator and lobbyist for various sector organizations, he has experience on both sides of the negotiating table. Moreover, he links knowledge and advice to concrete implementation of plans and policy.
In our society, organizations, businesses and governments are working daily to pursue their goals. These goals are sometimes contradictory and this leads to conflicting interests. Policy2Practice helps companies and institutions that are in danger of being disadvantaged by government policy. Or when they have ambitions in the public domain that require political decision-making.

Taking concrete steps
According to Marco, the qualities of Policy2Practice stem from the experience he gained in various roles in recent years. “As a lobbyist for the NVM, the largest association in the Netherlands for brokers and appraisers, I represented interests in The Hague. Before that, I was a lobbyist and press spokesman for the professional association of pharmacists during a period when the profession was under great pressure. Earlier, I also worked as an advocate for the food industry and got into a very difficult negotiation for my organization on packaging waste recycling, which eventually led to an agreement with the central government and municipalities. In all my previous positions, I achieved concrete policy results. Unlike most lobbying consultancies, we not only provide advice but are ready to carry out the lobbying for you and represent your interests effectively.”
Thinking along about solutions
Policy2Practice is engaged in solving various social issues, in which many different interests are involved. We therefore not only help companies and institutions, but also advise policy makers and administrators who are looking for support and struggling with complex policy issues. Marco: “My experience as a lobbyist is particularly valuable to policymakers. I help them oversee the political playing field, anticipate possible social resistance and make strategic policy choices that do justice to the various interests.” Conversely, in the role of lobbyist, I also try to think concretely with policymakers to make policy proposals more compatible with practice. For effective lobbying, it is important not only to state what you do and do not want, but also to come up with concrete proposals. So we don’t just deliver a message, we actively think along with you.
Integrity
Political lobbying is professional fulfillment of the right of petition and thus fulfills an essential function within our democracy. In a free society, citizens and companies have the right to submit complaints and requests to public administration. Lobbyists are intermediaries in the exercise of this fundamental right. Precisely because of their important function, it is appropriate to take a critical look at how lobbyists fulfill this task. Policy2Practice subscribes to the BVPA code of conduct and adheres to the principles and rules of integrity and confidentiality for which members of the professional association can be held accountable.
